Advert design

For this advert design brief, I was asked to create an advert for the Film Photography at my college.

I spoke to my client and they gave me key information that had to be include on the advertisement, like the location, the dates the dark room was open and what work was going to be displayed. What the rest of the advert was going to look like was then left to my imagination.

I created 3 very different designs for my client using Photoshop looking at ways to include the idea of film photograph whilst displaying the information.
The first idea I came up with was an old vintage looking advert. I liked this idea because it included film from a film photography camera and it portrayed an old vintage look.

The second idea I came up with was a more contemporary kind of advertisement. I used a film photography photograph I had taken and played around with the idea of black and white. This led me to edit a section of the photo to reverse the black and white and have one side with white text and one side with black text.

The final design was a basic design that showed film photography in a more literally way. I decided it would be a cool idea if I had the information on a pieces of paper in a tray of develop under a red light. I felt like this included part of the film photography process and was more of an original idea.

in the end my client chose the second design which was also my favorite design. they liked the contemporary style I had gone for and loved the fact it include a piece of my own film photography work.
