Illustrations
Here are a range of illustrations of characters from my Telling Stories project. In this project I had to look into childerns story books and choose a book I would like to recreate a cover for in my own style.

Whilst exploring what book I wanted to redesign I experimented illustrating characters from different books in various medias and styles. I had ago at working in other illustrations styles like E.H Shepard and used their styles to draw characters from different books.

I decided that I wanted to look into The Jungle Book and recrate that cover. I started to create illustration of characters from that book and using a realistic style as that is my prefered style.

When drawing my illustrations I wanted them to be appealing to most audiences. I did this by using lots of detail that would be interesting to an older audience and make the characters recognisable and life like to a younger audience.

The Jungle book book cover

This is the book cover I redesigned from my Telling Stories project.

I chose to redesign The Jugle Book book cover. i chose this book in paticular because I enjoy drawing animals and The Jungle Book is one of my favourite story books.

To redesign this book cover, I began by illustrating characters from the book in different medias and styles to searcg for the most suitable way to move forward. I created some trial book covers and created a urvey to ask the public which they prefered.

In the end I went for a realistic style as it worked with my target audience and I felt it was the best media to show off my skill and illustrations. I included main characters in the jungle on the front and backcover of my book, to make it more intresting and intriguing to the reader.

For this cover I also created a typograpghy for the titl6e using the paint tool in photoshop. I was very impressed with the title I had created and and the detail i included.
